With warming weather, overall, Hat should begin seeing some bigger hatches. Blue Wing Olives will come off in droves on cloudy days. There will be some variability in the weather pattern over the next week which is good for the bugs and fish. Take some small Adams, #18 - 20, and Quigley's Film Critics. These fish are skittish as the weed beds have died back, maximize your stealth tactics when chasing fish on the flats. For nymphs, the olive S&M in #18 tight-lined or fished under a small Chernobyl Ant dry-dropper style is how to pull fish from the sparse weed holds. The weather this weekend is looking good for a game of chess with the Hat Creek Rainbows.
Hot Flies: TB Drowned Rusty Spinner, Rubberlegs, Sweet Pea Jigged Baetis, Pheasant Tails, Mercer's Missing Link, and Green Drakes
