The trout were biting best in the area between Piers 3 and 4 of the lake. The bite was slow early in the week, then picked up after Thursday's stocking. The Buoy Line has been a slow area on the lake for trout. Trout Cove produced a few fish. Those using Power Worms and rainbow Power Bait are scoring best. The lake will next be stocking 1200 pounds of trout on Thursday, April 12. The water level is pushing the trout into the center of the lake.

The bass bite was good this week. The bass fishing pressure was rather heavy again this week. The weather was fantastic and will likely be perfect this week. The males have nested up, but few females have shown up. The nests are getting pounded by bass anglers. There has been an average of 20 cars at the gate each day at opening time. A few nice females were caught and released this week. The moon phase will likely slow the bass bite this week. The lake level is rising slowly.

A few bluegill were taken at the start of the week. They have not really grouped up yet. This will happen as the lake warms.

We have noticed of late that some of the anglers are snagging bait fish. THIS IS ILLEGAL!!! If you wish to use the live bait from this lake, you are only allowed to dip net them. Those observed snagging bait fish will be ejected from the lake for 72 hours and may have there gear confiscated. The practice of snagging bait fish is a violation of the Fish and Game Code.
