The lake is ice free and the fishing is fair to good throughout the lake. The water level is 61% full and anglers are able to launch from Utah Lake State Park Marina. Fishing in the main lake is fair. Anglers are catching channel catfish, common carp, largemouth bass, northern pike and the occasional walleye. Bow anglers are also reporting success targeting common carp in the shallows and tributaries. Conventional anglers fishing Utah Lake's tributaries are reporting increased success finesse fishing for largemouth bass using various jigs/rigs paired with soft plastic baits (worms, baitfish imitations or tubes). Conventional anglers are also reporting fair fishing for white bass, black crappie, bluegill, common carp, largemouth bass and northern pike in areas such as Powell Slough WMA, Mill Race and Lower Hobble Creek WMA.
Reminder: Utah Lake tributaries are closed to the possession of walleye from March 1 through 6 a.m. on the first Saturday of May.
