Catfish are currently biting on Senior Shoreline and near Boat Dock Cove. Yesterday’s plant is the first of three catfish plants in July. Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver. Stop by the Ranger Station for a dough-bait recipe that works well for either catfish or carp.

Crappie prefer the cover of shade and bite best in the early mornings. Crappie respond best to mini-jigs or live golden shiners.

A good number of small to medium Largemouth Bass are being caught around structure. They will chase shad raps, crawdads, or dark colored plastics.

They are still catching trout, but the in-flow of water from the canal has stopped so you might have to search elsewhere in the lake to find them. Limits of trout continue to come out of the east end

Limits of trout continue to come out of the east end where the water is flowing into the lake. Anglers have been leaving each day with full stringers usually by mid- morning. A large number of trout went uncaught during the wet winter and mild spring temperatures have prolonged the season.
