Bass and striper were the best bets

Pyramid Lake remained above 90 percent of capacity, and water temperatures were near eighty degrees. Bass and striper were the best bets at with striped bass taking topwater, Flukes, and spoons before 9am. Anglers also scored limits of smaller jail birds trolling umbrella rigs in 25 to 40 feet of water. Bait anglers fooled striper with lugworms and cut sardines. Large and smallmouth took topwater and crankbaits early in the day, and then most of the action transitioned to stick baits and 4” plastic worms on the drop shot. Catfish reports were slow last week, but normally Pyramid Lake whisker fish readily eat chicken liver, dip bait, and cut baits.
