Stocking: The last catfish stocking of the season went into the lake last week. We stocked a total of 8,500 pounds of catfish this season. This is the last weekend of night fishing until next year. We’re open until midnight Friday and Saturday. Don’t forget your lantern!

Trout Opener: The dates for Trout Opener are November 17th - 19th. Wright’s Rainbows will stock 2,500 pounds for the opener. Our trout come from a family owned commercial aquaculturist in Idaho. Ten percent of every stocking is over 3 pounds. We will stock 19,000 pounds of trout this season.

What’s the Catch? The water is cooling off and the lake offers some excellent fishing opportunities during this cooling trend. The bass fishing was good this weekend. Lots of catch and release bass around Sentry Point off of the campground shoreline and by boat near the Hermit Cove buoy line. We heard topwater lures in blue/chrome were the ticket, but don’t sleep on plastics especially in our lake. As usual, the week of stocking is always a good time for catfish. We heard they were biting on red worms and chicken livers this weekend. Rangers saw them schooling in Siesta and Hermit Coves.

Conditions: The water temperature is just below 74.8 degrees. Dissolved oxygen is consistent throughout. The sun is rising at 6:54 a.m. and setting at 6:13 p.m.
