The upper river continues to fish very well, not as many salmon are spawning and the boat traffic should be tapering off. If the weather is decent, it will be worth a trip. Fishing some of the smaller patterns like the Duracell, Olive Hotspot, and ZT Jig Nation below a black Rubberlegs will be a good setup. The swing fishermen will find small intruders in earth colors useful. Assassins, Bret's Klamath Intruder, Ho-Boh Spey, and Hartwick's Silent Assassin will be good flies to swing. If you really want a good adrenaline rush now would be the time to throw that skater, Hoody's Hanger or Brett's Klamath Skater do a great job. This may be one of your last chances to fish this section prior to the dams coming out, they will begin drawing down the reservoirs in January. If you would like to set up a day with a guide give Bryan or Chris a call in Outfitters (530)222-3555.
