Here at Isabella the water level dropped slightly to 34 percent capacity. Bass have been chasing bait around the lake and they’re keyed in on shad. Shad imitation baits have been scoring. Larger model fish are showing off the main and secondary lake points in 25 feet of water. The quality bass have been coming on Texas rigged worms, jigs, and trout imitation swimbaits. Crappie have scattered and are a little more difficult to find. The crappie bite is decent in 10 to 20-feet of water with live shiners and mini jigs in white, silver and shad profiles. The catfish bite remains steady with SSS dip bait and cut baits. Trout can be caught with garlic scented baits, spinners, mice tails and worms. Boaters can find them trolling leadcore with needlefish, Tasmanian devils, and flicker shad around the dam. There’s a trout plant scheduled the week of December 17th.
