Stocking: Another 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout from Idaho was stocked the week of Christmas. So far, 8,400 pounds of trout have been stocked with trout from Idaho and DFW. Unfortunately due to weather, this week’s trout stock was postponed until next week. Follow our Instagram feed for the most updated info regarding trout stocking.

What’s the Catch? We had reports of trout, bass, and catfish bites last weekend. The trout were biting on mini jigs and Hookup Baits around the boat dock, t-dock and by boat. The population is well distributed throughout the lake at this time of year, so it’s not unusual to hear trout being pulled from all over. If you can, take a boat into some of the more remote coves around the lake, for example Eagle or Sentry where there were significant schools last weekend. More bass on shiners pulled from the t-dock this weekend. The catfish were biting on nightcrawlers late in the day. Siesta and Shadow Coves are always great for catfish.

Conditions: The water temperature is just under 65 degrees. The lake fill has concluded so be aware of submerged structure if you’re fishing close to shore in a boat. The water column is well oxygenated and conditions are good for trout. The sun is rising at 6:51 a.m. and setting at 4:54 p.m.
