Recent rains have steadily increased the lake level to nearly 20 percent of its capacity, and anglers reported wintertime fishing conditions. Spotted bass held in 15 to 40 feet of water with Drop shot, Ned rigs, crankbaits, and spoons getting some attention from the tight lipped fish. Green Pumpkin and Ox Blood, continued to be popular color choices for the finesse anglers. Crappie anglers enticed fish with small live minnows, mini jigs, and small swimbaits near Horse Creek, and catfish anglers used anchovies, chicken liver, and dip bait to land some whisker fish. Trout anglers used dough baits, minijigs, and various trout lures to land rainbows from shore.
