EAST WALKER RIVER           

The East Walker on the California side of the state line is closed until April 27. 2024. The Nevada side of the river is open through the Winter. 

The flows on the EW are at about 125 cfs right now and it’s fishing excellent. Lots of good reports coming in from the Rosachi section as well as the Sceirine and Elbow sections. Lots of fish in the 14 to 20 inch range being caught with a few going over 20 here and there. The streamer action has increased quite a bit this week with lots of good reports coming in on both streamers and nymphs. We’ve also had a couple good dry fly reports as well but they are a bit more rare. Some patterns to try: Dali Lama, zuddler, sculpzilla, cousin it sculpin, baby gonga, dead drift crayfish, psycho prince, flashback emerger, perdigon, poxyback stone, zebra midge, copper john, prince nymph.                     

   

SCEIRINE RANCH         

We had very good news from the ranch as well this week with lots of fish being caught in the 14 to 18 inch range, both on nymphs and streamers. We didn’t hear anything about dries but the others did very well this week. We’re starting to get more bookings as the water is still pretty low so if you want to get on the ranch just give us a call and we’ll get you on the calendar.      

 

HUNEWILL POND    

As we talked about last week the pond is ready to roll and fishing very well with lots of large, happy and hungry rainbows in there. The Hunewill’s have an aquaculture license so the main season does not have to be open to fish there, grab your gear and get out there for some good times! Give us a call to make reservations!

WEST WALKER RIVER               

Had a couple decent reports from the West this week with some nice rainbows and a few nice browns being caught up there. A couple anglers were casting panther martins and Mepps spinners while the fly anglers were drifting buggers and attractor nymphs like princes and pheasant tails. As the weather warms up (one of these days) the action should keep getting better up there.
