Colorado River - Laughlin - Laughlin, NV

With most of our fish in spawn, the fishing has been really slow. But it's time to go after the striper, as that bite should be doing well. Up on Lake Mohave, watch for boils of shad; the striper should be right there, with anchovies producing some great catches. Even a couple of jigs in various colors should work well. The coves above the power lines or near the dam on the Nevada side should be able to find schools of stripers. Here along our shores of the Colorado River, shore fishing should be doing well in the community park area. The largemouth and smallmouth bass are nesting, with the carp jumping out of the water; this is spawn season for these fish. The panfish will be next to make their nests. It's me with a limit of trout from a while back; we should be getting a few trout brought in from the Colorado hatchery to battle the caddis fly. These trout from Colorado are usually pan-sized, but a few larger fish and some colored ones find their way into the pot. Spinners and nightcrawlers are your best bet when this truck gets here. Hope this helps some for now, and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch and your story. Mostly, thanks for the support.
