The Metolius has been fishing well. Nymphing remains the most consistent technique for catching fish during all periods of the day. BWO’s and caddis have been hatching sporadically as well making for fun dry fly opportunities if you find yourself in the right place at the right time. As far as nymphing goes golden stones, jig leeches, perdigons, two-bits and nitro caddis have been some recent favorites. As always big streamers are a good way to try and fool a bull trout ot two. Don’t forget that the river above Allingham bridge remains closed until May 22.
