It's striper season, and they're getting larger

It's striper season, and they're getting larger. Local angler Mike Jones recently landed a couple of nice-sized stripers near the Parkway Bridge. This fishing spot is becoming more popular and is yielding a few good catches. Mike shared his story of catching a few smaller stripers in the early morning hours, floating along in his boat until he landed these two impressive ones. One of them weighed in at 7.48 pounds, measuring 26 and 3/4 inches, while the other weighed 6.34 pounds and was 26 and 3/8 inches long. Mike used anchovies as bait for all his catches.

Reports have been coming in about trout in the Rotary Park area and stripers near the dam and casinos. It's a prime time of year to reel in a limit of stripers along the Colorado River below the Davis Dam. The striper limit is 10, with no size restrictions, just a bag limit of 10.

There's not much news yet from Lake Mohave, but that should change soon as largemouth bass and smallmouth bass are moving away from the fry and should be hungry. The same goes for the Topock Marsh area, which should be opening soon.

We're excited to see anglers coming in with their catches to weigh and share their stories. Thanks for all your support! Now, go catch a fish!
