Pyramid Lake held near 90 percent of its storage capacity, and anglers reported another week of good fishing. Winds have been an issue all spring, but arriving early generally gives anglers a few hours of calm water. Bass took Texas rigs, drop shot, Keitechs, and crankbaits. Brown, dark green, and purple worked well in 2 to 20 feet of water on main and secondary points. Striped bass were tough to catch, but they can’t resist trolled umbrella rigs and A-rigs. Striped bass fell for the artificial bait balls in 25 to 50 feet of water over main lake points. Catfish ate cut baits, dip bait, and chicken liver at the inlet.
