Great news from Lake Mohave!

Lake Mohave - Cottonwood Cove, NV

Great news from Lake Mohave! Our local angler Mike Jones and his grandson Kaleb Williams from Atlanta, Georgia, were trolling an AC plug and landed a nice-sized striper. The striper weighed 8.74 pounds and measured 29.14 inches.

The lake is doing well, and anglers are catching stripers in the coves near the power lines and along the rock area near Davis Dam. The Colorado River below Davis Dam continues to produce stripers mostly in the 1-to-3-pound range. The preferred bait is anchovies, cut into 3-4 chunks, secured with bait wrap thread to hold the bait on the hook.

We are having a great fishing season. The Community Park area and the area near the casinos have been great spots. Rotary Park, along the shore and at the south end, has been producing a few stripers. The Nature Center has yielded stripers, a few holdover trout, and even some smallmouth bass along the shore.

We hope to see you soon to share your catch. Thanks for all your support. Now go catch a fish!
