Catfish Season: The lake will be stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish this week! The last stocking was the week of July 8th. The last stock of the season won’t be until October. You know what that means? Night fishing every Friday and Saturday night into October!

What’s the Catch?Catfish and panfish ruled last weekend! So many limits of cats caught on mackerel and chicken liver. The fishermen on the shore during night fishing were reeling in the most catfish. The southern shoreline from the boat dock past the t-dock was active.  Boaters were bringing in limits of catfish about 60 feet off of the tower buoy line. Panfish and bass were biting in and at the entrance of Half Moon Cove. Bluegill and Redear were biting on meal worms. Sounds like the bass fishermen were successful with drop shot and Powerworms.

Conditions: The t-dock will remain closed until further notice. The current water temperature at the surface is around 80 degrees. The sun is rising at 5:58 a.m. and setting at 7:51 p.m.

Please be aware of exposed and submerged structure while boating and muddy shoreline around the lake. The district will begin to refill the lake next week! We expect the fill to take about a month.
