Colorado River - Laughlin - Laughlin, NV

I am getting reports of the local striper bite in our area. The stripers are hitting mostly anchovies along the shores of the Colorado River, below the Davis Dam. Our local angler, Russel Mynk, and visiting angler, Mason Rieth, landed some nice stripers using anchovies while fishing from shore.
Our parks are great fishing spots to catch a few of these stripers. Rotary Park, Community Park, and the casinos area are popular spots, and don’t forget about Pyramid Canyon Park near the Davis Dam. Anglers are landing stripers mostly in the 1 to 4-pound range. While many smaller ones are getting to the bait first, different lures or swim baits are catching a few of the larger stripers in our area.
Up on Lake Mohave, fishing is best done by boat. Trolling has been working very well, with anglers reporting fish in the 4 to 9-pound range using white bucktail jigs or AC plugs. Not much news from the Topock Marsh area, but it has a great population of largemouth bass. These are mostly catch-and-release fish, with anglers practicing using various spinnerbaits and plastics.
Hope this helps for now. We look forward to seeing you soon to share your catch and your story. Thanks for all the support.
Now go catch a fish!
