There are all kinds of great options in Yellowstone Park. Now that the tourist traffic has thinned it’s worth driving up to the northeast corner of the park. Slough Creek and the Lamar are fishing very well. Look for hatches of larger mayflies. They are often called Hecuba, but they are a slightly smaller version of a Green Drake only duller in color. The Firehole is another great option this time of year with good hatches of BWOs. The fish are also moving up the Madison from Hebgen Lake. In addition to streamers and nymphs you should consider soft hackles. The river can get crowded above Baker’s Hole past the Barn’s Pools so it’s wise to get out early and pick your spot.
