Water temps in the low to mid 50's depending on location & water browning up a bit. We have been heading up north of Miners point to the Youth Camp & Pelican Pt (the nastiest navigable area we could be in & low water even makes it more interesting). Rusty brown trolling flies & hot orange have been our best. Just find the flavor of the day & go to work. We are starting to throw some all around best & chartreuse on darker days so keep that in mind the next few days. Orange is one I'll keep in the water anywhere though.

Yesterday's 6 fish catch was the first time I needed a wagon to haul the fish from the boat to the house to clean. Yes we are working 5-7ft rock piles but 3 of those fish (5lb, 4lb & 3.8lb) were caught over 14-22 ft of water & 4ft under. We are using Jay Fair toplines 150 behind the boat) & running leadcore at 1 color in the water (50 ft of leader for distance & running under the toplines just shorter but still in the strike zones). Later in the morning I've dropped out 2 colors for the last fish (12-14ft). I started out in water temps 51-52 up north & by noon it was 55. Still great temp. Fish fought hard...not quite as aerobatic as they are in the 60's but certainly resisting arrest once close to the boat. We did work for em. Shrimp island is also holding some fish in tight. We do have some weeds & grasses floating on the surface in some locations & some particulate algae's so keep your lines clean if you see it...always good to check em.

With some inclement weather coming this week we will see surface temps chill down even more. Once we see 46-47 steadily up north, the fish that are there turn around & head back to warmer water so keep that in mind the next few weeks & towards mid Nov. 51F wasn't a surprise up there. But it's still perfect!! Pics are Tamara Spurgeon-Powell holding up her 5lb & 4lb & bag in the wagon. Smallest fish was 3lb biggest was 5lb, 4lb, those in the middle were 3 1/2-3 3/4lbs. Good eats Penny Miller! What a beautiful day it was!!
