There are a lot of steelhead in the river right now, the fishing the past week was superb. Right now the draining has rain melting a lot of snow from yesterday and the river is on the way out. Good news is that it clears quickly and after this gully washer we should see it clear faster with each subsequent storm. Optimists say the top end should clear up and drop in on Saturday. We shall see. With all of the tributaries flowing, the fish will be on the move and the pod of fish that stacked up at Junction City will be making their way up river through the canyon. Good swing opportunities will be present below Pigeon Point for sure. Best nymphs remain the Duracell, Olive Hotspot, Black Perdigon, Rubberlegs and egg patterns. Skagits, tips and large intruders or tube flies will get the job done. Pick your favorite color, tie it on and fish it!
