The Nevada Department of Wildlife has begun its seasonal rainbow trout plants at the community fishing ponds. The ponds can be found at Floyd Lamb Park, Lorenzi Park, Sunset Park in Las Vegas, and at Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City. Hafen Park in Mesquite also receives trout periodically through the winter months. Trout are taking PowerBait, night crawlers or a mini marshmallow. Anglers are still catching the odd catfish with night crawlers. Despite the cool temperatures, some anglers have caught a few small bass on spinners.
