The lower Nehalem River is still above action stage on the river gauge and isn't likely to come into decent fishing conditions until early next week. The upper river may drop into shape a little more quickly. When conditions are fishable there should be steelhead throughout the basin. There are no hatchery steelhead releases in the Nehalem so this is mostly a catch-and-release fishery for wild steelhead.
