The lake is fishing very well for some nice fish cruising the flats and chowing in the seams on the dam outflow. The main bite has been on midges. Good flies are always black and red Zebra Midges, Damseleeches & Swimming Leeches or a Pheasant Tail in sizes #16 - 18. With warming weather you should look to see some Callibaetis coming off soon, so pack your #14-16 Adams and a 5x leader.

The lake is a good option if you are in the area, with intermittent releases from Trinity Lake, fishing right below the outflow can produce some consistent hookups. With the amount of Damsels and Dragonflies in this system, Wooly Buggers stripped in brown, black and olive, and Balanced Leeches the same color stripped or fished under an indicator are solid approaches. And Zebra Midges in #16 - 18, black and red, are a staple here. We've got guides who can get you out on Lewiston, give Bryan or Jordan a call to set up a trip!
