Fishing is generally best when flows are below 3,000 cfs. Now that the dry season has arrived, flows are being consistently held at around 840 cfs at the gage in Waterloo. The spring chinook run is now complete and the summer steelhead run nearly so. About 31,000 adult Chinook and 4,800 summer steelhead have been counted at Willamette Falls so far. About 730 summer steelhead and over 2,700 spring Chinook have entered the ladder at Foster Dam. The majority of these fish are in the sections above Waterloo, from below the deadline at Wiley Creek to Pleasant Valley boat ramp.
