Water Conditions:

Flow has been holding at about 129 cfs and the water is clear and cold.

There is snow on the ground so 4X4 is necessary to be safe.

Don\'t forget the section from Benton Crossing down to the monument is closed to all fishing.

Fishing Conditions and Hatches:

Bite is 10 am to 2 pm, maybe 3 pm on warmer days but it has been tough. I think a good number of fish have moved into the lake for warmer water. Fish are stuck to the bottom for the most part so dredge midges early and bigger, buggy stuff midday and be sure to get your flies down to them. Ditto for streamers.

There is a baetis hatch most days but of short duration.

Recommended Flies:

Dries: Para Adam, Stimulators in sizes#18-#14s

Nymphs: Hare\'s Ear, PT\'s, Copper Johns, San juan Worms #18-#16s

Streamers- Olive Wooly Buggers sizes #8-#12. Throw up stream and pull by the undercuts
