Water Level: Normal
The trout bite has been fair all around the lake since the last plant. The Buoy Line has been showing good promise for trout. Trout Cove produced a fair number of fish. The trout are staying deep, so fish off the bottom. Those using night crawlers and rainbow Power Bait are scoring best. There are plenty of holdover fish from the last two stocks to carry us through until the final stock of the season. This is a skip week. The lake will next be stocking 1200 pounds of trout on Thursday, May 17. This will be our final trout stock of the season.
The bass bite was slow this week. A few fish were caught and released this week. The lake level is back to normal. The lake is in prime form for things to take off around here. We should see the water temp moving up with the warmer days forecasted.
A few bluegill were taken this week. They have not really grouped up yet. This will happen as the lake warms. Small baits are working best. Try the area by the cattails.
We have noticed of late that some of the anglers are snagging bait fish. THIS IS ILLEGAL!!! If you wish to use the live bait from this lake, you are only allowed to dip net them. Those observed snagging bait fish will be ejected from the lake for 72 hours and may have there gear confiscated. The practice of snagging bait fish is a violation of the Fish and Game Code
