Date: June 17, 2007
Park Hours: 6:00 AM???8:00 PM
Boat Dock Closes: 6:45 PM
Last Stock: June 14, 2007 ??? 2000 pounds of Catfish
Next Stock: June 28, 2007 ??? 2000 pounds of Catfish
Water Temperature: 66??
Water Level: Normal
The lake has an algae bloom hitting it full speed. This is making it impossible to see two feet into the water.
The trout bite has been off all around the lake this week. Trout Cove produced a few fish. The trout are staying deep, so fish off the bottom. Those using night crawlers and rainbow Power Bait are scoring best. I think we have seen the end of the trout. The few being caught are coming very early in the day.
The bass bite was slow this week. A few fish were caught and released this week. The lake level is back to normal. The lake level will drop towards the end of the week, so changes are on the way. We should see the water temp moving up with the warmer days forecasted.
A few bluegill were taken this week. Small baits are working best. Try the area by the cattails. It is hard to spot schools due to the algae bloom.
Catfish are starting to hit here on mackerel. Try the Buoy line or Catfish Cove for best results. We had two taken over 10 pounds yesterday. Night fishing will start on June 29 and will run on Fridays and Saturdays only this year. NO MORE THURSDAY NIGHTS!!!!!
