Owens River Fish Report for 8-10-2012
With the water so clear at the Owens River Gorge, a stealthy approach is required

Water Conditions: Great the flow is at 45 CFS. This is a permanent flow required to be maintained by LADWP. The flows were bumped up briefly for repair work for the power plant.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Not much changing here week to week. The water was gin clear prior to the elevated flows. Slightly off color, but not for long.
Stinging nettles are back. Also watch out for snakes. (and tics).

DRIES: Royal Wulf #14-16, Rubber Leg Stimulator, Yellow Humpy 18, Kaufman Stimulator 16, Yellow Humpy #16, Taylor's Fat Albert #14
NYMPHS: Red Copper John #18, Green Copper John #18, BH Prince Nymph #18, Western Coachman # 16, Stocker's BH Lightning Bug #18.

East Walker River (CA): Big Hopper patterns or Attractor flies work best in the morning on the East Walker

for Friday, August 3rd, 2012Hot Creek: Good Trico haych followed by some small Mayflies on Hot Creek
San Joaquin River: It's time to "match the hatch" on the San Joaquin river. The fish are more selective
Crowley Lake: Crowley is "on fire". 'Bows are being taken from 18" to 25" and Browns to 22"
Owens River: There is a strong caddis hatch in the late afternoon and early evening on the Upper Owens
Owens River: Not much has changed at the Owens River Gorge, the key is to be stealthy
Rock Creek - Section 1: Great fishing at Rock Creek if you don't mind a little hike
Rush Creek: The fish seem to like caddis or small hoppers in the late afternoon at Rush Creek
Owens River: Conditions on the Lower Owens can hardly be better, but fish in the morning before it's too hot
Bridgeport Reservoir: No recent reports from Bridgeport Reservoir
