Well let me start with the lake level, it's in pretty rough shape right now. At full pool the lake is 867 feet above sea level and it is currently at 757 feet above sea level so it is missing a few gallons. On Saturday I had the pleasure of spending the day on the lake with my son and a friend from my bass club enjoying great fishing. We started our day out just north of the dam on several main lake points throwing jigs and spinnerbaits looking for some shallow fish, they never showed up. Our next stop was up the river and that's where we ran into the spots. We focused on the steep banks with lots of scattered boulders where the channel came closest to the bank, these areas were loaded for 1 to 2 lb spots that were more than willing to hit plastics in 20 feet of water. Robo worms darter headed, texas rigged roboworms and jigs all produced throught the day with MM3 and natural shad doing the most damage. There was a ton of boat traffic out so bass boats were everywhere and for the guys we talked to the fishing was good for them as well. If you want to put some fish in the boat or get your kids on the water now is a great time for numbers. Next report i will share more details but due to work i had to go with the short version.
