The fish are active at the Owens Gorge during the middle of the day but don't expect many hatches

Water Conditions: Great the flow is at 45 CFS. This is a permanent flow required to be maintained by LADWP.

Fishing Conditions and Hatches: During the middle of the day the fish are active but little in the hatch dept. Regardless they'll go for something big and bright floating along.

Recommended Flies:

DRIES: Royal Wulf #14-16, Rubber Leg Stimulator, Yellow Humpy 18, Kaufman Stimulator 16, Yellow Humpy #16, Taylor's Fat Albert #14

NYMPHS: Red Copper John #18, Green Copper John #18, BH Prince Nymph #18, Western Coachman # 16, Stocker's BH Lightning Bug #18.

Owens River: The water is cold on the Upper Owens so fish deep, dark & slow
Owens River: Fish the Owens River Gorge during the middle of the day, hatches are limited at this time
Pleasant Valley Reservoir: The area right below the stream section of the Pleasant Valley Reservoir is the "Sweet Spot"
Owens River: The fishing on the Lower Owens is excellent with ideal wading conditions
East Walker River (CA): The fishing on the Lower Owens is good from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
