A great time was had by all at the various events held around town for Free Fishing Day. The young and the young at heart alike had fun fishing and catching. The bite is on for bluegill. These scrappy little fish are hitting on mealworms, corn and popcorn. Look for the fish where the light bottom gives way to dark grass beds. Catfish have been going for anchovies, corn, hotdogs or conventional stink baits. Bass in the ponds can be enticed with various soft plastics.
