For the past week it seems fishing has been for the birds... and that is how many anglers have been locating their fishing holes. The birds are honing in on schools of gizzard and threadfin that have moved into the coves, shallows and throughout Vegas Wash. These schools attract the striped bass as well, so take a look up while on the water and let the birds guide you to a promising fishing spot. Anglers have had success jigging spoons off the bottom or speed reeling spoons toward the surface. Those fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass have had success using senko worms or dropshot rigs near grass beds with gradual shorelines.
