Spin anglers are having the most success with small natural-color Rapalas and spinners. A few anglers have picked up larger fish on jigs. Fly anglers have had good success using sow bugs, pheasant tails, Prince nymphs and midge patterns during midday. Streamers have been the best in the cold mornings and late afternoons. The brown trout have started digging to prepare their spawning areas (called redds), so do not step in places where fish have cleared away the algae. For help identifying spawning areas, watch this YouTube video. Please remember that all cutthroat trout, or trout with cutthroat markings, must be immediately released from the Great Salt Lake to Echo Reservoir dam. Check the USGS website for data about flows along the Weber river.
