The Gallatin remains to fish well through out the day. You'll find caddis and smaller stoneflies on the sunny days. When the clouds roll in Pale Morning Duns will emerge. Approach the Gallatin as you would the Madison. Sneak around the banks and cast upstream to spots that look fishy. If dry fly fishing drops off nymph the deep holes. If you happen to be on the river before 11:00AM you can swing a streamer or strip it from downstream. Stock your fly box with PMD Sparkle Duns, X-Caddis, Iris Caddis and Chili Stones.

The Madison below Quake Lake is still fishing well. The hot weather has pushed back evening emergences of caddis and Epeorus. Don't be surprised if the fish are reluctant to rise until the sun is low and the water cools off. Keep an eye on the water for spinners as well.
