The ice is thickening up in some areas, but is still unstable in places, especially along the edges and in the middle. The thickest ice is about three to five inches. Some people that have ventured out and experienced good fishing for rainbows. Because ice thickness varies -- and can change quickly in warmer weather -- please use extreme caution and common sense. The first leg of the Wasatch Back Quad-fishalon will be held at East Canyon on January 31. The Quad-fishalon is four ice-fishing tournaments at four separate reservoirs.
