The fishing at Eagle Lake continues to be very good.  Guide Tim Noxon had limits of Eagle Lake trout every day except Friday when the wind blew everybody off the the lake.

The surface water temperature ranged from 52-55 degrees this week.  Fish are being caught in fairly shallow water, the fish have not shown up in the "shallows" (less than 10 feet of water) in any great numbers yet.  The fish seem to be scattered all over the lake at this time.  As the water warms, more and more fish should move into shallower water 

Trolling in tight to the shoreline on the west side, south of Shrimp Island continued to be very productive.  Noxon is working water 10 to 16 feet deep over a rocky, uneven bottom.  Baits are set from just below the surface to 6 feet deep and running them 125-150 feet behind the boat.  Brown and watermelon 2 inch Sep's grubs have been  the top producers this week.  The bite has been best from about 5:00 A.M. to 9:00A.M.  Average fish have been 17-19 inches in length, weighing in at 2 to 2.5 lbs.  The fish are fat, bright silver, and healthy.

Other sccessful trollers are catching fish in Miners Bay, the Youth Camp, Pelican Pt., and Wildcat Pt. Many are catching fish fishing shallow in deep water; i.e. trolling from the surface down to about 6 feet deep in water that is 45-50 feet deep.

Bobber fishermen have had good success anchored up off the Youth Camp shoreline.  Anchoring in 15-20 feet of water and setting a threaded night crawler below a bobber at 7-8 feet deep has been productive. (530) 825-3454
