Weekend fishing was slow but the bite has improved this week. Anglers near the nets are now averaging a dozen fish per day. Most are being caught on beetles or wooly buggers with chartreuse bodies and white foam backs. Most fish are running 20 to 23 inches. An 8.8 pounder was caught Wednesday.
