I know I sound like a broken record, but the fishing has not changed
much. The trout are biting very well in the area between Piers 3 and 4 of
the lake. The bulk of the fish are being caught off of Jack Creek Pier and
off the shoreline, just to the east of it. Trout Cove is also producing fair
numbers of fish. The fishing started off very good this week and got even
better after the stock. This is likely due to the weather changes. Those
using night crawlers and rainbow Power Bait are scoring best. The lake
will next be stocking 1200 pounds of trout on Thursday, February 15.

The bass bite took a big jump forward this week. The bass fishing pressure
picked up substantially this week. The weather was perfect and the fish
started moving up and about. I have seen a number of nice fish moving up
into the pre-spawn mode. The males are just starting to look for areas to
set up house. The weather over the weekend has sent the bass back into
deeper water, but fair numbers are being caught and released, mostly in
the 35+ feet range.

No catfish were reported this week.
