The Upper Sacramento River is good but not until after the morning brisk is gone and the light hits the water creating a hatch. Flows are very good for wading. I have seen golden stones daily in the afternoons on warmer days. size 16, Blue wing olives and grey may flies on colder days. Use beaded nymphs size 18 to 14. Size 18 black micro mayfly was best for me this week. Also size 18 red & black copper johns. s&m’s size 18, pt’s flash back size 18. Heat will slow fishing down plan to stay until dark for best results. Fishing around Dunsmuir has been good. Best section is from Sims to Shasta Lake. www.jacktrout.com, (530) 926-4540.
