TROUT SEASON is 3 weeks away, so start dusting off those trout rods and spool some light line for those rainbow trout. The first stock will be in the lake November 2, with 2400 pounds. Start planning the November calendar for the 29th annual Dixon Lake trout derby during the Veterans' Day weekend. The derby is schedule for November 9???12.

Bass action was fair this week. A few local anglers reported catching some smaller bass in the 1 to 3-pound range on plastics. The bass are working the bait schools hard in the early morning and evening hours along the shoreline. Most of the action has been in the Boat Dock coves with smaller bass crashing the surface. Pressure was extremely light this week.

The last catfish stock of the season was Friday, August 31. The bite has been slow this week due to lack of fishing pressure. Mackerel and anchovies are working best. There are still fish being taken in some of the cove areas or at the buoy line.
