Clear Lake in Spokane County is a year-round, multi-species gem offering something for every type of angler. Stocked heavily with rainbow trout in spring and fall, it also supports a robust warmwater fishery for bass, crappie, perch, and bluegill.

Trout fishing is best during cooler months. Shore anglers use PowerBait and worms, while boaters troll with spoons, flatfish, or wedding rings. Broodstock trout are often included in spring plants, providing a chance for trophy fish.

In summer, the lake becomes a bass haven. Largemouths cruise weed beds and rocky points, hitting spinnerbaits, plastics, and topwater lures, especially early or late in the day. Crappie fishing is strong in spring and early summer, with fish holding around docks and submerged structure.

Yellow perch and bluegill are widespread and easy to catch on worms or small jigs—great fun for beginners and families.

Clear Lake has excellent access via a public launch, and there’s no motor restriction, so expect boat traffic on weekends. Float tubers and kayakers often find success in quieter coves.

For consistent trout limits, strong bass fishing, and excellent panfish action, Clear Lake ranks among the best-managed fisheries in the Spokane area. As always, check current WDFW rules for size and harvest limits.
