A beach wheelchair is available at the swim complex on a first-come, first-served basis, assisting wheelchair users to travel across the beach. Staff will provide orientation and arrangements to bring the chair out to the beach. Contact Lifeguards at (510) 690-6629 or Park Rangers at (510) 544-3133 to reserve the chair.

The history of Quarry Lakes stretches back to Native American inhabitants and spans the early days of European settlement. The area once contained quarries that supplied gravel for the transcontinental railroad. The lakes were later used for groundwater recharge by the Alameda County Water District. After years of planning, the park opened in phases starting in 1997, with recreational facilities completed in 2000, offering a beautiful and accessible destination for outdoor activities
