From 8am to 1pm I had the pleasure of fishing with fellow RB Bass member Micheal Coleman on one of his frequent lakes. I started throwing swimbaits around while he looked for a reaction bite with no avail. We saw a lot of activity on the graph in the 20′ depth range so I picked up the Dobyns spinning gear and caught the first fish of the day on a 1/4oz dart head paired with a Kietech. We ran into a couple schools and seemed they were in the grass between main body points.. They were eating bait as their bellies were fat and my live wells were full of regurgitated shad. We caught around 9 keepers all on the 3.8 Kietech and it seamed dragging it through the grass was key.. The bite really shut down for us around 11:00 so we started chasing the schools with drop shots and spoons, but they were not biting for us.. All in all we had a pretty good day with a couple fish pushing 3lbs, so I’d say it was better than any day of work.. So long and see you guys on the next one!!
