The trout again are biting very well in the area between Piers 3 & 4 of the lake. The Buoy Line has been posting good numbers of trout being landed. Trout Cove is also producing fair numbers of fish. Those using night crawlers and rainbow Power Bait are scoring best. The lake will next be stocking 1200 pounds of trout on Thursday, March 1. This will be a skip week, no trout stock.

The bass bite slid back some this week. The bass fishing pressure was up substantially this week. The weather was perfect and the fish were working the bait balls. I have seen a number of fish moving up into the pre-spawn mode. The males are just starting to look for areas to set up house. Fair numbers are being caught and released???mostly small males.

We have noticed of late that some of the anglers are snagging bait fish. THIS IS ILLEGAL!!! If you wish to use the live bait from this lake you are only allowed to dip net them. Those observed snagging bait fish will be ejected from the lake for 72 hours and may have there gear confiscated. The practice of snagging bait fish is a violation of the Fish and Game Code.

No catfish were reported this week.
