George and Carla Molino of the Pyramid Lake Store at (775) 476-0555: It's in the 40's right now (Monday morning) and we've got a few fishermen out already. The fishing is good but scattered all over the lake. Most fishermen are happy whether they are fishing with flies, lures or from boats. Nothing big has been reported.

The cold weather and a plant of 1,750 pounds of trout last week has turned on the fishing. Another ton is going in this week. Henry Yamaoka of Gilroy caught the big fish of the week, a 12-pound, 10-ounce trout. Right behind that catch was Domingo Sarmiento of Union City, who caught a 10-11 trout.
