Report: Battle Creek is in great shape but the water temps may be getting a little too warm. Your best bet would be to fish the faster water with beadhead nymphs or big terrestrial patterns! These wild rainbows will crush a small Golden Chubby Chernobyl or just about any hopper pattern. Fish an Eng Thing or Amber Prince underneath, or a Bead head Pheasant Tail and you're set. In the evenings, look for rising fish in the shadows and throw a Dark Missing Link, #14 - 16.
