Spring run-off is here and brings with it variable flow and stream temperatures. Flows in the Blitzen River near Page Springs campground 200 to 1,500 cfs as of April 9. Recent rain-on-snow events have dramatically increased flows. Water temperatures range from 30 to the mid 40s.
Large streamers and other nypmhs work well on the Blitzen throughout the year. There are also various hatches that occur that anglers can take advantage of so keep a selection of dry flies handy.
