I fished some of our great return clients the last two day.  The fishing is still spotty, but the early bite has been consistently good.  I've been fishing the top 10', but we've caught a few rainbows down to 20' as well.  The top 2' was where our first 5 trout came from today, and as the water continues to cool, the top layer will produce until the sun hits the water or we see very light winds.  I recommend dropping down to 10-20' when those conditions persist.  Look for the bite to get better and for the those who like to eat trout, Shasta rainbows are in great shape this year and cutting very good!  We'll be catching some great Shasta Lake trout this year from now through the spring and summer season of 2020.  Best times to target big browns is March-April and big rainbows, July-September.  Call Jaynie Goodwin at (530) 510-2925 to set up your Shasta Lake trout fishing trip.  Thank you!  Capt. Jeff Goodwin,,,
