The Sacramento River holds some pretty incredible specimens of rainbow trout. Its wild trout have been lucky enough to call the Redding Ca. area home for generations. These trout are protected from harvest by CDFW regualtions and the majority of the water below Shasta Dam, all the way to the California Delta, requires that all non-hatchery (adipose fin clipped) trout be released. There is one small section of the Sacramento River that has general fishing regualtions, and rainbow trout can be retained. If you would like to learn more about the trout fishing opportunities in Redding, give Jaynie a call @ (530) 510-2925. She can definitely help get your group set up for a great trout fishing trip this coming month. Thank you!
